What MiPLUS actually is
MiPLUS is Michigan's online licensing transaction portal: applications, renewals, relicensure, and Modification (including adding an employing broker) all happen here. It is a government licensing system — not a school, and not the exam vendor. PSI, not MiPLUS, administers the examination.
What has to be ready before you apply
By the time you submit, have your course-completion certificate ready to upload, along with the current Consent to Service of Process if you're a non-Michigan resident, and your SSN or the current applicable affidavit. Complete the current disclosure fields accurately.
Submitting and paying
Create or use your current MiPLUS account, upload your documents, complete the disclosure fields, and pay the current $88 fee, which LARA describes as the application fee plus the three-year license fee. The application remains valid for one year from payment.
LARA review and exam authorization
LARA reviews the application. Once approved, LARA and PSI issue the examination eligibility communication and a Candidate ID, and only then can you schedule the PSI exam. A fixed LARA processing time is not published here.
What a passing PSI result does and doesn't mean
Passing the exam returns a result to the MiPLUS workflow. It does not by itself issue the license. The examination result remains valid for one year from passing.
Employing broker entry and approval
After passing, submit the employing broker's 10-digit license number through Modification. Broker approval is required before the license is issued; the applicant may not be licensed to more than one broker at the same time.
Distinguishing application statuses
Submitted, incomplete, approved to test, passed, awaiting broker approval, and issued are distinct statuses. A passing PSI result is not part of the pre-submission checklist, and a background-check certificate is not part of the current application.
