PathReady Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information PathReady collects, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to visitors and users of our licensing guide network.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to PathReady websites, pages, guides, forms, and related online services that link to this policy. It does not apply to websites, course providers, exam vendors, licensing boards, affiliate networks, or other third parties that we do not own or control.

PathReady is an independent career licensing information resource. We do not issue licenses, approve applications, administer exams, or operate state licensing portals.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

We may collect information you choose to provide, such as your email address when you request a guide, or your name, message content, correction requests, partnership inquiries, newsletter preferences, or other information submitted through a contact form or email.

Guide signup and journey information

When you submit a guide signup form, PathReady collects your email address in the signup domain. Signup records may also include a privacy-safe journey_id, state, page_slug, call-to-action metadata, intent metadata, UTM fields, and consent_version so we can send the requested guide and understand which licensing resource you requested.

PathReady also collects Journey and intent events separately from signup records. The /api/intent-event flow is non-PII by design: events must not contain email, name, phone, free text, or raw query strings. A journey_id may be used server-side to join signup context with non-PII event provenance, but the Journey object itself does not store personal contact information.

Information collected automatically

When you visit PathReady, we and our service providers may collect technical and usage information, such as browser type, device type, operating system, pages viewed, links clicked, referring pages, timestamps, approximate location derived from IP address where provided by infrastructure or service providers, and other standard log or analytics data. PathReady application code does not store raw IP addresses.

Cookies and similar technologies

PathReady may use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, understand site performance, measure traffic, prevent abuse, and, where applicable, track referrals or commercial links.

3. How We Use Information

4. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party service providers to host the website, process contact forms, provide analytics, send email, protect security, manage cookies, or track commercial links. These providers may process information on our behalf or according to their own policies.

Depending on the site setup, PathReady may use providers for hosting, security and CDN, analytics, search performance measurement, email, forms, affiliate tracking, and link management. These may include hosting providers, security and CDN tools, analytics tools, Google Search Console, email providers, form tools, affiliate networks, and direct partner programs, if enabled. Where specific providers are in use, we aim to keep this list current.

PathReady may link to licensing boards, exam vendors, education providers, course platforms, approved provider lists, affiliate networks, and other third-party websites. Those websites are not operated by PathReady, and their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

5. Commercial Links and Affiliate Tracking

Some PathReady pages may include links to education providers, exam-prep tools, or related services. If a commercial or affiliate relationship exists, we disclose it near the relevant link, provider listing, or comparison module. Affiliate networks or providers may use cookies or similar technologies to track referrals from PathReady to their websites.

We do not disclose regulatory requirements, application rules, or exam details differently because of a commercial relationship.

6. How We Share Information

We may share information with service providers that help us operate PathReady; with analytics, security, hosting, email, or affiliate-tracking providers where applicable; in connection with a business transfer; when required by law; to protect rights, safety, or security; or with your consent.

We do not sell user data or personal information for money. Certain analytics, advertising, affiliate, or tracking technologies, if used, may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted-advertising disclosure under some state privacy laws. Where applicable, we will provide required notices and choices.

7. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including operating the site, maintaining records, responding to requests, resolving disputes, enforcing terms, improving guides, preventing abuse, and complying with legal obligations.

8. Your Choices

9. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to request access to personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion of information, portability of information, and to opt out of certain forms of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling. You may also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.

To exercise privacy rights, contact us using the information below. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Authorized agents may be required to provide proof of authorization and identity verification.

10. International Visitors

PathReady is operated online and may use service providers located in the United States or other countries. If you access PathReady from outside the United States, your information may be processed in countries whose data protection laws differ from those in your location.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No website, transmission method, or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children’s Privacy

PathReady is intended for licensing and career-education research and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of PathReady after the updated policy is posted means the revised policy applies going forward.
