A realistic stage-by-stage timeline
RealReady does not guarantee any specific timeline. Use this as a planning frame, not a promise.
Education timing
How long the 60-hour Principles of Real Estate course takes depends entirely on format and pace: full-time self-paced study can move quickly, while part-time classroom schedules stretch over more weeks. See the course guide.
Exam scheduling and preparation
After your course completion is reported, budget time to study for the PSI exam and to find an available test slot. See exam prep for what to focus on.
Background check timing
The signed application must be received within 90 calendar days after fingerprint results reach the Board. Track the Board receipt date rather than relying on a general expiration estimate.
Application and activation
The signed application must be received within one year of the initial examination date. An active application includes firm or sole-proprietor information and a broker signature, with active issuance after Board approval. An applicant without affiliation receives an inactive license, may not perform licensed activity, and can use the later activation process when ready. See the application guide.
The one-year PLE clock
The 30-hour post-license education (PLE) deadline runs from the last day of the month your license was issued — not from your first day of work. Missing it moves your license to inactive status. See the renewal & PLE/CE guide.
