NJREC-approved schools deliver the required 75 hours of salesperson prelicensure instruction. Use the licensed school’s current syllabus and NJREC requirements for the controlling curriculum rather than treating a third-party topic list as exhaustive.
Completion must be electronically reported by the school to PSI before exam scheduling, so confirm the school participates in that reporting process.
Choosing a Licensed School
Look for a school explicitly approved by NJREC to deliver the 75-hour salesperson course, and confirm whether the specific offering is in person or live remote. See the online course guide for the distinction between current live-remote instruction and generic self-paced content.
The Broker Education Track
Broker candidates generally need 150 hours: a 90-hour general real estate course, a 30-hour Agency and Ethics course, and a 30-hour Office Management course. NJREC also requires three years of continuous full-time employment as a licensed New Jersey salesperson immediately before application.

- Confirm whether the specific section you are buying is live-remote or in-person — official guidance currently supports these two formats, not a generic self-paced format.
- Ask how the school reports your completion to PSI and how long that reporting typically takes after your last class.
- Ask about the school's policy if a live-remote session is rescheduled or cancelled.
How this interacts with your eligibility window
The school reports course completion electronically to PSI. PSI eligibility expires one year to the day from issuance. Confirm the issuance date and expiration date shown in the current PSI record; do not assume that issuance occurred on the final class date or at the moment the school submitted its report.
Before leaving the school-selection stage, ask how the school confirms that its electronic report was submitted and how the candidate can determine when PSI eligibility has actually been issued. Use the PSI record—not an estimated course-completion date—for deadline planning.
