Checking a pending application
If your application is still being processed, or your principal broker affiliation and E&O coverage haven't been finalized, your license may not yet show as active in the lookup. Contact the Commission directly for status on a pending application rather than assuming an issue with the lookup tool.
What a Lookup Result Does and Doesn't Tell You
Reading a License Record
A license-lookup record answers one question: is a license currently active, and under what firm.
- A record showing "active" reflects an issued, currently valid license — not just a passed exam.
- If a name doesn't appear, confirm you searched the correct license type and spelling; recently issued or recently transferred licenses may take time to reflect the latest status.
- A status showing inactive, expired, or retired means the person is not currently authorized to practice under that license, regardless of past activity.
- If a record looks wrong or is missing after a reasonable processing window, contact TREC directly rather than relying on a lookup tool alone.
