Taking your Massachusetts real estate course online
An online or live-online course should be evaluated as a Massachusetts licensing course, not as a generic national real estate class. Confirm the provider and exact course against the current Board authorization information before paying.
Is an online Massachusetts real estate course legitimate?
A course may qualify when it is offered through a currently authorized Massachusetts real estate school and provides the complete Board-approved 40-hour credit. The approved delivery structure can vary by school, so do not infer qualification from the word ‘online’ alone.
What to verify before enrolling
Verify four items directly: the school’s current Board authorization, that the exact course awards the full 40-hour credit, its attendance and identity-verification requirements, and how the school issues the Massachusetts Educational Certificate.
Not every "online real estate course" qualifies
Generic real estate courses marketed nationally do not automatically satisfy Massachusetts's specific school-authorization and delivery-format requirements. Don't assume a course is compliant just because it's popular or well-reviewed in other states — confirm Massachusetts-specific authorization directly with the Board.
After an online or live-online course
Once you complete all 40 hours and receive your Educational Certificate, you move into the same eLIPSE application and PSI exam-authorization process as a fully in-person student.
