Gathering endorsements and submitting your application
Start gathering your three candidate endorsements early, since they cannot be classmates known to you only from your pre-license course. Once your Educational Certificate, endorsements, and CORI materials are ready, submit your application through eLIPSE. An incomplete application may be held open for 180 days before being treated as abandoned.
Board review
The Board reviews your application, including endorsements and CORI materials, before authorizing you to schedule the PSI exam. Board processing time varies; check current review timing directly with the Board or DOL.
PSI exam scheduling
Once authorized, budget time to study and to find an available test slot or approved remote-proctoring window. See exam prep for what to focus on.
License issuance and broker affiliation
Current Mass.gov guidance says in-person candidates may pay the license fee and receive the license at the testing center; remote candidates receive instructions from PSI. The initial license fee must be paid within 30 days after notice of passing, or the candidate may need to retake the examination. From there, complete broker affiliation before performing licensed activity as a salesperson. See the application guide.
